Ok, for real, these chocolate chip cookies are amazing. They are the nostalgic cookie that your kids will grow up with you making and then pass down to their kids. These cookies have that crunch on the edge but perfectly soft in the middle.. so good!

ingredients for amazing chocolate chip cookies…
1 cup butter, room temp
2 tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar (I use organic)
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 cup chocolate chips (I use semisweet)
Making the chocolate chip cookies…
Start with getting your 2 tbsp of butter melted. Measure your sugars and both butters into the mixing bowl of a stand mixer. Start mixing on medium, scraping down here and there. Mix until light and fluffy. Then scrape down and add the eggs. Mix again until fluffy again and you cannot see any streaks or breaking in the mixture.
Now add the flour, soda, baking powder and salt and pulse to start so you don’t have flour fly all over. Mix just until incorporated.
Next, add the chocolate chips. I like to mix these in by hand but you can also use the mixer. Make sure you scrape down to the bottom of the bowl and make sure there isn’t any flour hanging out. Just be sure to not overmix!
Scoop cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet and flatten slightly with the palm of your hand. I used the middle size scoop in these 3 pack of scoops.
baking the cookies…
Bake in a 350 degree oven starting at 15 minutes, then rotate and do another 3 minutes or until the edges are just starting to brown and are firm to the touch. Middle of the cookies should still be soft.
Let these cool fully before eating or transferring to a cooling rack.
freeze the chocolate chip cookie dough…
These cookies freeze great. Scoop them onto a parchment lined baking sheet and slightly flatten. Put in freezer until they are completely frozen. Then you can transfer to a reusable freezer bag.
These cookies can go straight from the freezer to the oven. They may need a couple more minutes but they turn out great!
You can also sprinkle some fleur de sel on top before baking for a more adult version .
